The Duo GlossArteLea Suter (harpsichord/organ) and Juan González Martínez (historical trombones, incl. silver trombone) – has been awarded the “Melómano de Oro”, a distinction granted by the Spanish classical music magazine Melómano / Melómano Digital (category “Melómano de Oro”), highlighting selected new releases. The award honours artistic excellence, original programming, and a level of sound culture that goes far beyond the expected.

Melómano de Oro for Duo GlossArte

Duo GlossArte stands for historically informed performance practice that does not merely reconstruct, but tells a story: sound as rhetoric, ornamentation as language, virtuosity as expression.

With the “Melómano de Oro” – a distinction of Melómano / Melómano Digital – the CD recording “Mediterranean Melodies” has now been honoured.

Melómano: the jury’s reasoning

“The starting point is the sound itself….On this premise, Juan González Martínez and Lea Suter build a well-balanced programme that fully explores both the vocal dimension and its rhetorical virtuosity.”
Jaume Darbra – Melómano, 11.06.2026

About the sound: silver trombone, harpsichord, organ

Part of GlossArte’s special magnetism lies in its instrumentation: the silvery, slender tone of the historical trombone meets harpsichord and organ—sometimes transparent and buoyant, sometimes warm and expansive. The result is a resonant space in which the trombone is not merely “accompanied”, but can unfold freely.
